Giraffe to Accompany Song "Just Call Your Local Giraffe" by Mary Rice Hopkins

Roll a sheet of yellow construction paper the long way to form a tube and tape to make the giraffe’s neck.  Cut a giraffe head from yellow construction paper.  Add a smiling mouth and a wiggle eye.  Spots and the ear are made from brown construction paper and glued on.

This giraffe can be used when children sing the song "Just Call Your Local Giraffe" from IF I KNEW HOW TO MOO album by Mary Rice Hopkins.

After reading THIS IS THE SUNFLOWER by Lola M. Schaefer with pictures by Donald Crews, the children can paint their own sunflowers with tempera paint and filling in the center with colored sand.

Great book which makes scientific principles easy for young children. Includes some fun water experiments.

Telephone Craft Project

Materials Needed: 2 paper cups, string, nail.
Poke hols in bottom of paper cups. Put string through and tie big knots on inside of the cups. The string needs to be held tight as children talk/listen. Really works!!

Butterfly Craft Project

Materials Needed: Wood clothespin, colored tissue paper, craft wire, markers.
